The thriving bedroom community of Cedar Park is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation according to the U.S. Census. Situated along the busy commercial corridor of Highway 183, residents have a slow commute to downtown Austin during peak travel times although completion of the new raised sections of Hwy 183 make the commute a little less time consuming.
Nice, comfortable, suburban, sometimes family sized homes and large country homes on acreage lots populate the relatively flat terrain of the state's coastal plain. No major industry is located here but plans are in the works to attract large firms to the area. Shopping amenities are convenient for residents near the highway but less so for those in the outer rural neighborhoods.
Buttercup Creek is situated just off the main thoroughfare. The schools for the children in this community are nearby. Amenities include tennis courts, parks, a swimming pool and basketball courts.
Vista Oaks, built in the mid 1990's, has larger family style homes on wooded lots. Community amenities include a pool, tennis courts and a playground. Professionals, skilled workers and their families call this area home.
